Review of Freaks (1932) by Debbie P — 18 Jul 2010
"Freaks" was released in 1932, and was directed by Tod Browning (who directed Bela Lugosi in Dracula). A tall and beautiful trapeze artist in a circus agrees to marry one of the side-show "freaks", a midget by the name of Hans.
He is already engaged to Frieda (who is also a midget), but falls under the spell of Cleopatra, who had discovered that Hans is about to get a large inheritance. This film features many real life side show "freaks" which makes this movie all the more disturbing.
This is one movie a person doesn't soon forget! Considered a classic by many.
