Review of Frankie and Johnny (1991) by Jo S — 22 Feb 2010
Down to Earth movie about love in a realitic view.
Young Frankie hasn't dated in three years after a bad relationship. An is more content to watch her VCR and have pizza. Until Johnny who was in 18-month prison sentence on a forgery charge who learnt to have passion for cooking and classical literature when he was in jail. Lucky to be given a second chance by Nick who owns a New York diner. Johnny becomes a chef and meets the lonely waitress Frankie. Sparks fly, but stubborn Frankie isn't taking it in even though she wants a guy who wants her matter what. So Johnny won't expect no for answer and pushes her to let him in. Finally she brings down the walls and let's him in and learns to trust him and tells him why she has been heartbroken and why she is afraid of love.
