Review of Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943) by Mr P — 05 Mar 2007
The first real "Battle of the Monsters" movie. Nobody ever got to see 2 of their favorite monsters go head-to-head until this movie. It led to a lot of poorly made films to be made, but always will be the measuring stick as far as these films are concerned.
A bit hokey at times, but always fun. The only qualm I had with this film is Bela Lugosi as the Monster wasn't quite up to bar with Karloff (but who is). Making the Monster slow and less emotional definitely hurt the film.
But the fact you get 2 monsters fighting each other is awesome. I'll love this film regardless of my qualms.
