Review of Frank Zappa: Baby Snakes (1979) by Daniel L — 03 Nov 2007
So... holy shit. This was nothing short of a sensory explosion, I'm not sure how else to put it. The musicianship is incredible, the classic Zappa dark humor is at its finest, the audience is part of the act, and the claymation was otherworldly.
For a movie that fell just under three hours, I don't think I was bored the entire time. It doesn't have direction in the classic movie sense of the word, but reel-to-reel probably the most entertaining thing I've ever seen put to film.
