Review of Frank (2014) by Alasdair B — 01 Sep 2014
"Frank" is a delightful drama/comedy about a man named, Frank.
"Does he ever take it off?".
"No.".
"He sleeps with it?".
"Yes.".
"Frank" was a really good film. Its hard to review it because it was very off beat and odd from start to finish. Its supposed to be that way. I may need to watch it again. The cast, namely Gleeson and Fassbender do a dashingly good job in their rolls. The film is funny, eccentric, and dark. Many of the characters are off their heads, but they are musicians.
In the end the film is about Frank trying to comes to grips with who he is. He is a troubled soul wearing a big fake head after all. Its sharply written, well shot, brilliantly acted, and has a lot of emotion and heart at its core.
"You can write a song about absolutely anything." -Frank.
