Review of Frank (2014) by Adam K — 05 Jan 2015
Off-beat and unusual in a charming fashion, it's also somewhat familiar and uneventful. Basically chronicling the (nigh) destruction of a band, it was refreshing to see it not due to (or even very inclusive of) sex or drugs but about creativity and likeability.
It's good-natured and has some quirky fun to it and has great thoughts on creativity. But as the credits rolled I couldn't help the feeling that is was almost standard indie hit quality that left something to be desired.
Not a bad film, just not a great one either.
