Review of Frank (2014) by David F — 29 Mar 2015
This is a bizarre and fascinating dark comedy in which an avant-garde band led by a man with a large plastic head mask almost never actually play any music. It's strangely engaging, worryingly disturbing, and nearly impossible to stop watching.
The theme of insanity being a necessary requisite for musical genius is explored throughout, which is why almost every snippet of music we do hear is reminiscent of Jim Morrison and the Doors.
