Review of Frances Ha (2013) by John K — 17 May 2013
Does a wonderful job of catching a moment in time between childhood and adulthood by following the trial and tribulations of a struggling artist. Unlike the show "Girls" this film doesn't glorify bad behavior and instead shows the repercussions of ineptitude and the benefits that can be gained by having a succinct goal.
Gerwig, working off a script co-written by herself and Noah Baumbach is wonderful as always, as this is just another notch in a long line of movies already that should have made her a breakout star.
