Usually not a huge fan of Baumbach's but "Frances Ha" shows great improvement as he uses a lighter touch to tell the story of Frances whose life spins comically out of control. Part of the credit belongs to star Greta Gerwig who also co-wrote the film.
Gerwig delivers a pitch perfect performance as a self absorbed New Yorker whose dream is to be a dancer in the company she works for and each day that goes by that dream falls further and further behind.
Not for everyone but if you get into it, the many assets make this one easy to like.
