Review of Frances Ha (2013) by Jack C — 18 Feb 2014
The first Baumbach film I've genuinely liked. Much of the false (and mean-spirited) drama on display in his earlier work has been glossed over by subtle comedy and a lot of heart. Much of this has to do with a wonderful performance by Greta Gerwig (and I have to think her co-writing the film played a part as well.
) A funny, heartfelt, character-driven comedy.
