Where HBO's Girls shoots and misses on capturing the brutal life of struggling young adults in New York City, Frances Ha excels. Greta Gerwig is wonderful in the titular role, and watching her life spiral further and further out of control is all too familiar.
A wonderful screenplay from Gerwig and director Noah Baumbach makes this well worth the watch.
