Review of Frailty (2012) by Paul J — 14 May 2010
What a nice surprise this was. Paxton directs this suspenseful and unpredictable thriller with great confidence. Apart from its brilliant ending, what makes this film really work, are the sympathetic children.
The performances are strong and the twisted scenarios that the family end up in are truly shocking. Like Breaking the Waves, when its over, you want to re-think the religious quality of the film. A fine hidden gem that takes a few brilliant risks.
