Review of Frailty (2012) by Shawn S — 06 May 2013
I dont own this movie, but it is something I could add to my collection. I was perusing different movies from different actors to see if I had missed a diamond in the rough for my personal viewing pleasure.
I am a law student and a huge fan of murder mystery and serial killers. I saw the bio on this film Frailty and thought it looked like a film I could be interested in. Funny story behind it is it said Bill Paxton was directing and for some reason, my mind goes to Bill Pullman and I put him in the shoes of this religious nutjob.
The fact that it was Bill Paxton brought me down a little but I still watched it. I like the flashback style between Matthew McConaughey and Powers Boothe. The flashbacks were slow moving at first but once the plan gets laid out, it moves fairly nice.
After so much of this, it gets a little boring to some because 99% of the gore of each kill is cut out. But hold on my friends, because there is certainly gold at the end of rainbow. You wanna talk about twists, and mindfucks, this one is up there and it hits you and you never see it coming.
I wont spoil the surprise, but know this is a big blip on the radar and you need to see this film if you like this type of movie. Enough said.
