Review of Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets (2017) by Shawn S — 24 Mar 2018
Stunning visuals and great cameos, enough to enjoy the ride but not enough to overcome a sub-par script and lack of chemistry between the two leads. Plus, they were just too young to be believed as these experienced, highly valued special ops members of the government.
I didn't buy his Casanova persona and their baby-faces didn't lend to their narrative. Still, there were moments of spark and chemistry...just not enough to take this film where it had the potential to go.
