Review of Frailty (2002) by Sylvia G — 05 Apr 2009
Not a bad thriller, though quite a few things bothered me in the plot that kept me from enjoying it to the fullest. E.g. for me it was way too predictable that the guy at the FBI's office is not who he says he is (and so it turns out in the end), but I thought it was intentional - that we know he's lying (hence it ruined the twist for me, at least one of the twists).
And if Adam was telling the story in flashbacks how could he possibly known what happened between Fenton and Dad?? (a couple of scenes where Adam was NOT there) If the first person POV is chosen as a device, they should have been more careful what he could have seen/known for sure.
Anyway, I'm just picky when it comes to this. Otherwise I liked the theme, and the other twist makes you think, yes. Pretty well built up too. M. McConaughey is better than ever! (I loved the scary eyes).
