Review of Frailty (2002) by Eric — 26 Jun 2011
More like a made-for-TV movie than a cinematic venture, this film feels horribly dated for 2001. The acting is subpar, there are WAY too many flashbacks, the story is gimmicky, and I think Bill Paxton has made the right choice by focusing on his acting career.
I like Bill Paxton as an actor, not as a director. Watching this movie, I couldn't help but think about all the things that could have made it scarier and more suspenseful. But I'm used to modern horror.
It did have a few good moments. Oh well. It is what it is. I enjoyed it somewhat. Never need to see it again though. [062611] [2 STARS].
