Review of Foxcatcher (2014) by Graham W — 28 Jul 2015
Slow moving character drama with a dreary atmosphere and a blue aftertaste. Two brothers who are wrestlers are approached by a billionaire benefactor (Steve Carell) who wants USA to win it all. But the rich man has a strange social demeanor and has some disturbing behaviors that unfold as the show goes on .
..slowly. A surplus of nature footage and lingering shots of people staring into the air could've been trimmed and saved the audience a good 20 minutes. On the plus side, Carell is well deserving of the Best Actor nomination for this role.
He makes you forget his comedy career almost immediately.
