"Foxcatcher" is a extremely well acted drama that is based on a true story that is set in the late 1980's. Channing Tatum plays Mark Schultz, who is living Under the shadow of his more successful brother, played by Mark Ruffalo as David. Since Mark is a Olympic Gold Medal-winning wrestler but his older brother has more of the glory. When an multi-millionarie by the name of John du Pont (Steve Carell) takes an interest in Mark and John wants to start an world class Wrestling team training at his estate. John sees something in Mark that is destiny for greatness and be his own man instead of always counting on his brother. But the more, the working Relationship between Mark and John changes...and the more, it's clearly becomes unpleasent.

Directed by Bennett Miller (Capote, Moneyball) made an fascinating, psychological drama that is certainly not for all tastes. It is certainly an much quieter and strange film than what I expected it to be. Carell and Tatum gives change of paces roles here. Carell is unusually effective in his Oscar nominated role, I would love to see him in more dramas as well. For Tatum, this is second best role since "21 Jump Street". Ruffalo gives an fine supporting performance in his Oscar nomination role as the older and wiser brother. Anthony Michael Hall appears in a small role. I didn't even recongized Vanessa Redgrive's role as John's mother.

The picture won't appeal to all but if you stay with it, it will be an rewarding film to some and extremely depressing for others. If you are willing to give this an chance, this is Worth a look. Grade:A-.
