Review of Four Days in September (1997) by Private U — 10 Oct 2007
This was a really good political movie. Also, it stars Alan Arkin, who is awesome. A group of young middle class radicals in 1969 Brazil form an urban guerrilla cell against the repressive military dictatorship in their country.
While they carry out a successful kidnapping, their strategy ultimately fails, their organization is smashed and they all end up in jail or exile. The movie is based on real events and on the writings of one of the young militants - Fernando Gabeira - who is now a Senator for the Green Party in Brazil.
