Review of Four Brothers (2005) by Alan P — 19 Aug 2009
Four Brothers may just be my favorite movie of all time. I don't even care what the critics think, I love this movie and I'm not ashamed to say so. It's got everything needed to make a great film: a deep & compelling story & characters, a great setting, and tons of action! A lot of action movies get too bogged down with dialogue and end up having not very many action sequences, but this movie does not do that.
The action keeps coming at you, and it's rather intelligent action as far as the circumstances go. Plus, the actors in this film are great. I had no idea two of my favorite musicians - Tyrese and Andre 3000 - could act so well! Add in the always great Mark Wahlberg; Garret Hedlund, a guy I never heard of but should definitely be in more films; and Terrence Howard as a clean cop and you get a hell of a cast.
I can't recommend the movie highly enough.
