Review of Four Brothers (2005) by Matt N — 18 Dec 2009

Marky Mark is yet again, the toughest guy you know on screen, and he does it in top form in four brothers. I forgive this movie for its short comings and commend it for its tasteful miss direction. It?s a story of four orphaned brothers coming together to seek out the killer or killers of they're adopted mother. (Can you smell a fresh batch of vigilantes?) Who could be capable of killing the sweetest woman in the world becomes the fuel for a very formulaic but still entertaining premise. I was curious enough to find out what would happen, but by no means did I find the movie to be anything too special or original. The 4 brothers are always bickering, and while I know brothers are supposed to, its like they were doing so to make up for a slight lack of chemistry amongst the group. It kept, tip toeing between being really hard and rugged, and being quite Hollywood. On a high note, I did enjoy Mr. Andree 3000 as he made the transition to movies from music quite nicely and the ending is quite solid. All in all, I?m a sucker for a good revenge flick and this one fits the bill just well enough to make it worth it??. so long as you don?t ask too much of it and don?t make it the last thing you do in your day.

DID YOU KNOW? Four Brothers was actually based on a Western Movie from the 1960?s! No wonder Marky Mark is constantly reaching for his holster.
