Review of Fort Apache (1948) by Lee H — 06 Jul 2007
The greatest American director and his greatest movie. Maybe not as good of an "acting" performance by Wayne, as compared to the Searchers or ...Liberty Valance, but he perfectly plays off of Henry Fonda (who completely sheds his Tom Joad/Abe Lincoln persona).
Ward Bond, as always, steals his scenes in a supporting role. Could not recommend this movie enough.
