Review of Fort Apache (1948) by Chris K — 10 Apr 2010
Classic Ford western with Wayne in a surprisingly small role considering his top billing - leaving the larger, yet more unsympathetic role to Fonda who is brilliantly despisable. Was also surprised to see a more mature, and gorgeous, Shirley Temple as John Agar's love interest.
Beautiful cinematography of Monument Valley and some great comic moments with the Cavalry sergeants, led by the irrepresible Victor McLaglen make this a memorable movie.
