Review of Forget Paris (1995) by Yasmin A — 30 Mar 2008
I almost always like Billy Crystal movies. I don't know why, since he is a really unappealing person - but he is so good. He's so funny, he's such a good writer and director, he just makes really good movies. He's just really unappealing to me, physically; and yet he has these wonderful moments of absolute honesty on film and you find yourself going "oh, I like him!".
Debra Winger, though, I always love.
So I was going to like this movie from the onset...especially with all the scenes shot in Paris. The thing is.. it's really good writing! The way their story is told is quite clever and the moments of pathos are very moving. And then there is this amazing supporting cast (hello! Cathy Moriarty!) and (this HAS to be said).
The FUNNIEST sight gag I have ever seen on film.
