Review of Ford v Ferrari (2019) by Brent_Marchant — 16 Nov 2019
A well-made piece of little-known sports history, specifically the intense rivalry between Ferrari and The Ford Motor Company in their highly competitive efforts to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans during the 1960s.
It's the kind of film that appeals to a specialty audience, despite its human angle, so, if you're not into auto racing, this probably isn't for you. However, for those who enjoy the subject matter and appreciate such things as great speedway action footage, this is one of the best films ever made about the sport.
With a mostly breezy, light-hearted script and fine performances by Christian Bale and Matt Damon (who share a great chemistry together), this is an eminently entertaining offering.
