Review of Force Majeure (2014) by Mark H — 29 Nov 2014
A cross between Bergman and Clouzot ("The Wages of Fear") with some comedy thrown in. The French Alps location photography is stunning, but the drama is stretched from incident to psychological warfare, with a wandering ending.
Yes, it is an examination of masculine role models in family life, but it could have been 20 minutes shorter and much more effective. 2 hours without much plot is a long sit. In Swedish, French and English with impressive snow.
