A very awkward and psychologically fascinating film, but a mixed bag for me in terms of the film viewing experience. I liked parts of it, but I also didn't believe some of the character's behaviors. It felt a bit too forced for dramatic effect in spots, which left me not really feeling anything towards the characters because of a lack of perceived authenticity. I had the same issues with The Loneliest Planet several years earlier. It definitely did not help in my enjoyment of the film, knowing that the basic premise was similar to that earlier film. Maybe viewers who go in knowing absolutely nothing about this film have a better experience.

The cinematography, production design and locations are all fantastic.
