Review of Force Majeure (2014) by Dan H — 30 Mar 2015
A harsh and in-depth look at marriage, family, modern masculinity, feminism, equality, and much, much more. A controlled avalanche brings out the worst in a husband and wife, and their reactions to it may lead to the end of their family.
An uncomfortable, but powerful film. Easily one of the best foreign language films I have seen. Not sure what to make of the ending, but this is still one superb film with fantastic performances from Johannes Bah Kuhnke as Tomas ( husband/father) and Lisa Loven Kongsli as Ebba (wife/mother).
