An interesting sequel but a little wooden. The usual twists found in an Alister MacLean story don't seem to be there in this movie. Shaw and Ford don't seem to click; you can't figure out if the relationship is supposed to be adversarial, cooperative or beligerant.
Special effects are about what you expect for the timeframe.
