Review of Force 10 from Navarone (1978) by Trevor R — 06 Nov 2007
Good old fashioned action/adventure film. What is suppose to be a follow up to the classic "The Guns of Navarone" does not follow the story of the novel, but does retain the concept of having to blow up a dam to prevent the Germans from invading and destroying Tito's forces.
Alot of bad things have been said about this film, and considering that I am a huge Alistair Maclean fan, I can see why people would rip into this film. The book and the movie are two completly seperate entities, and they should be enjoyed as such.
The cast, including Robert Shaw and Harrison Ford, keep the action at a breakneck pace. A film that I believe deserved a second chance!
