Review of Force 10 from Navarone (1978) by Naische F — 09 Jun 2009
Highly entertaining war movie from Guy Hamilton ('Goldfinger', 'The Man with the Golden Gun') starring Harisson Ford leading a secret mission into Eastern Europe and assisted by some Brits led by Robert Shaw ('From Russia with Love', 'Jaws', 'The Taking of Pelham 123') and Edward Fox ('The Day of the Jackal').
Along the way, they receive the support of Carl Weathers ('Rocky', 'Predator'). They then meet some of the locals who may be partisans led by Richard Kiel (Jaws from 'The Spy Who Loved Me' and 'Moonraker') and his daughter, Barbara Bach ('The Spy Who Loved Me').
Interestingly, the film feels like some missed scenes from the first Indiana Jones movie as there are many prominent fights involving German officers and the main villain was also that in the thrid Indiana Jones movie.
Highly recommended movie for the pace of the action and the collection of characters assembled for the mission, very entertaining and not that serious, definitely a good time to behold!
