Review of Forbidden Planet (1956) by Ethan Y — 08 Jan 2008

One of the greatest sci-fi films of the 50's and possibly of all time. It has this great feeling of mystery and dread that pervades the whole film. The fact that the monster is invisible certainly helps cut back on the cheese factor.

Also, while the special effects aren't so special by today's standards, they certainly are innovative for the time and actually pretty clever if you think about it.
