I think people give this ratings because it's meant to be a classic. Its amuzing in parts, and very of its time. The monster is ridiculous. Hell, everything is. I don't think I'd watch it again but I'm guess I'm glad I watched it once.
Leslie Nielsen as a heart throb? And Anne Francis was in Funny Girl after this which tells you something about her taste in roles...
