Review of Forbidden Planet (1956) by Wes S — 13 Mar 2013
Classic science fiction. The story is pretty decent, although the characters are not too interesting. The first hour or so is a bit slow, but the remainder of the film is very entertaining and suspenseful.
The effects are pretty good looking for their time, and the film is very vivid and colorful. There's a little humor, a little horror, and a whole lot of great looking science fiction sets. Robby the Robot looks good enough on it's own, but the rest of the film still stands out.
Required viewing for classic sci-fi fans.
