Review of Forbidden Planet (1956) by Rj M — 02 Nov 2008
There are two key differences between Forbidden Planet and other B sci-fi movies of the 1950's: One is its big budget and impressive effects (for its time). The other is that it lacks the Cold War influence and deeper themes.
As a result, it isn't very challenging or even exciting for most of the picture. Fortunately, it does have and interesting and original ending.
