I never liked this Bond movie, not even as a kid. I don't know why, it just never clicked with me.
Also, the more I watch Moore as Bond the more I wonder why I ever enjoyed his films. I haven't seen them since I was a kid, and that must be it. These movies are more for the 12 year old Bond fan than the 24 year old Bond fan.
