Review of For Your Eyes Only (1981) by Dann M — 13 Apr 2013
For a Bond film, "For Your Eyes Only" lacks a few crucial elements: a surplus of action scenes, an explosive finale and a memorable villain. The absence of these elements goes a long way in making "For Your Eyes Only" feel disappointingly forgettable.
It's not that it's a bad film; it's just that it's kind of unspectacular. But there's a lot of good about it, too, such as Roger Moore's always charming depiction of the famous British spy and a handful of tense scenarios.
Also, the ski chase around the one hour mark is kind of remarkable. (The Roger Moore Bond films tend to have at least one ski chase in them.).
