Review of For Your Eyes Only (1981) by Sd W — 27 Dec 2014
I like Moore as an actor, but this movie is the beginning of the end with this series until Daniel Craig took the franchise to its new height of success. Actress Carole Bouquet isn't even reasonably believable when her parents get killed, and the close-up of her face was not a good ending to that scene.
The car chase afterward was dismal with typical comic-relief car chase scenes one would expect in Keystone cops movies. This movie got better further on, but overall this movie reminded me of the era when Bond movies became more of a comical movie, than something believable.
I like Dalton and Brosnan as Bond, but the series needed an entire face-lift and Daniel Craig brought it and did a fantastic job in Casino Royale. That movie had a solid opening, believable actors, and the entire movie is a 10 out of 10.
