Review of For Richer or Poorer (1997) by Dylan D — 02 Aug 2006
For Richer or Poorer was one of those films that wasn't the worst but wanted to be better. The script itself lacked at places but overall it was a decent story that I could have seen being a good movie.
The probable main flaw is the casting of Tim Allen and Kirstie Alley who are well know but virtually talentless. Some of the jokes did make me crack a smile but Tim Allen and Kirstie Alley's chemistry was so far off, it was embarassing to watch.
There were cringe worthy moments when jokes fell flat or when the two main characters made fools of themselves. I really wanted to like For Richer or Poorer but it was just destined to become a failure from beginning to end.
