Review of For Love of the Game (1999) by Peter P — 21 Jun 2010
One thing is clear, Kevin Costner loves making baseball movies. Out of the 3 he has made, I would put this as second best, behind "Field of Dreams" but ahead of "Bull Durham" (which I liked, but was a litttle overrated because of all the pointlesss sex and psychobabble).
Overall it is a well told story about life, regrets, love and baseball, I feel Costner was perfect for the role of Billy Chapel and closed out the baseball trilogy nicely.
