I liked this movie. I loved how it got into the head of a ballplayer. I have never been a fan of Kelly Preston. She did ok in this one though. Is it cliche? A bit, but it works as the baseball action reflects Billy's mood in the movie.
By the end, he is close to giving up and Gus picks his spirits up and he rediscovers his fight. It was the same way in his relationship with Jane. He was ready to give up on her and then realized that he needs her.
