Review of For Love of the Game (1999) by Robert O — 15 May 2011
For all of Kevin Costner's suckiness, he has made some good baseball movies (Bull Durham and Field of Dreams). "For Love of the Game" is abysmal. Terrible. Painful to watch. This work is an insult to America's pasttime.
A tepid baseball love story filled with irritating dialogue. Nothing is worse than watching Costner mutter to himself on the mound as he flashes back through his life. Oh, the horror.
