Review of For a Few Dollars More (1965) by Mamo M — 24 Aug 2010
The second film in the dollars trilogy puts more meat on the bones and brings in Lee Van Cleef as a rival bounty hunter.
The story is top drawer and again Leone fills his film with close ups of sweating faces which bring more interest than any wide shots.
Thats not to say the scope has widened in the second film, everything here feels much grander than the 1st film thanks in no small part to another memorable score.
My fave bit? has to be Van Cleef striking a match on Klaus Kinskis Back it just makes me laugh everytime.
