Review of For a Few Dollars More (1965) by Matt S — 23 Dec 2008
Very worthy un-related sequel to A Fistful Of Dollars. Not as good nor as action packed but it still shows, just like Fistful that you don't need lots of slow motion explosions and martial arts to create an action packed film.
Although Clint Eastwood normally steals the show like he did in the first one, this is Lee Van Cleef's film. His dignified bounty hunter is the best character of the film and is one of cinema's greatest anti-hero's of all time.
Fantastic editing. When Cleef catches site of a wanted: dead or alive poster and it changes from a close up of his eyes and the picture paridly getting faster and closer was a stand out scene.
The soundtrack is one of the best I have heard and is also one of the most famous off all time. It is memorable and a classic piece of music.
A classic spaghetti western and a truly unforgettable film.
