Review of For a Few Dollars More (1965) by Andrew H — 24 Jan 2009
This takes little getting into, I was instantly gripped by the storyline, which is very well thought out and has a few twists and turns to it.
Clint Eastwood plays Monco (but is still 'The Man With No Name') extremely well as expected, but plays him a bit more cunning in this film. Lee Van Cleef plays Mortimer very well and when the two share scenes it is very well shown the similarities and differences between the two characters.
There is also some suspense too, especially with the final showdown and a small bit of mystery within the storyline. The music by Ennio Morricone is perfect and comes in just at the right moments.
A well thought out western that grips the viewer from the beginning.
