Review of For a Few Dollars More (1965) by Levi P — 14 Feb 2011
A sequel to 'A Fistful of Dollars' the film initially sets itself apart from its predecessor by being a completely original film. 'Fistful' was a pretty close adaptation of Akira Kurosawa's 'Yojimbo.
' The only element returning to this film was Clint Eastwoodâ(TM)s character with no name. While the character was modeled around ToshirÅ? Mifune in 'Yojimbo,' it's pretty clear in this film Eastwood began to depart from this mold and take the character in his own direction.
The changes are slight and are in the right direction, but he no longer rubs his chin as a nod to ToshirÅ?. While I didn't like this film as much as âFistful,â? itâ(TM)s still pretty solid and has a fantastic ending!
