Review of For a Few Dollars More (1965) by Philip L — 04 Feb 2012
This is by far my favourite Western. The scene where El Indio gets out the pocketwatch for the first time is on my list of all time great scenes. The tension between the two protagonists is unbearable whilst Morricone's amazing score cranks it up even further.
All the time the chimes of the pocketwatch play down to a fateful conclusion. Van Cleef out cools Eastwood in this one -'This train stops at Tucumacari'.
