Review of For a Few Dollars More (1965) by Kieran F — 03 Mar 2012
For A Few Dollars More centers on The Man With No Name (Clint Eastwood) teaming up with a bounty hunter (Lee Van Cleef) in order to bring down a crazed desperado (Gian Maria Volonte). This sequel improves upon its predecessor by featuring a more emotionally resonant story that better showcases the strengths of the filmmakers.
Eastwood and Van Cleef are at their gritty best while director Sergio Leone frames every scene with fiery and suspenseful intensity. It's almost needless to say that nobody can use music as a narrative device with the same flair as composer Ennio Morricone, but I'll state it just the same.
