Keeping the gorgeous stylization from the first installment was a solid choice, but now adding a far superior storyline, involving some pretty serious stakes, was an even better one. I like this film quite a bit more then the first.

For one, I wasn't so distracted by the cooler then cool "Man With No Name." Leone refrained from the overwhelming amount of one liners and flashy gun tricks in order to bring more depth to the character, a very effective decision.

I also appreciate the extended length of many of the scenes which was seriously lacking in the first. Leone never rushed through them, but instead took the necessary time to let us soak up every ounce of this boiling plot.

Finally, bringing in Lee Van Cleef as Eastwood's counterpart was a brilliant addition. They have genuine chemistry together which only adds the the films greatness. This is the perfect film to follow up to an introduction like the first.

I'm greatly excited to see how this fantastic series will conclude!
