Review of Following (1999) by Therese S — 17 Dec 2009
Christopher Nolan's feature film debut is very typical Nolan, and that's not a bad thing. One thing I always enjoy about Nolan is his ability to effectively tell a psychological noir thriller. A lot of what makes similar works, such as Memento, work as well as they do was first utilized here: the shots, the non-linear story, the pacing.
Following is a clever movie taking a simple premise and delving into the darker corners in a way that seems almost too natural. Definitely worth the 70 minutes you'd spend watching it.
